Meet the Coaches
Varsity Head Coach: Aliyah Weant

Aliyah Weant enters her first season as head coach and her fourth year with the ThunderRidge girls lacrosse program. A Colorado native, she grew up around the game and brings a deep love for both lacrosse and the ThunderRidge community. Weant played two years of collegiate lacrosse before beginning her coaching career, a path that has allowed her to combine her competitive experience with her passion for mentoring young athletes. Outside of lacrosse, she is a pediatric oncology nurse, where she works closely with children and families during some of the most challenging moments of their lives. That experience has shaped her leadership style, emphasizing empathy, resilience, and strong communication. She coaches with the philosophy that you coach the human being first, and when that comes first, the lacrosse player will follow. Weant truly loves coaching and is excited to continue building a positive, hardworking, and connected ThunderRidge program.
Varsity Assistant Coach: Sydney Patterson

Sydney Patterson is in her first year at ThunderRidge and is excited to be joining the coaching staff for the girls lacrosse program. Originally from Maryland, she moved to Colorado this past summer. She grew up playing a variety of sports, with soccer as her primary focus, before being introduced to lacrosse in high school by friends and quickly falling in love with the game. Sydney attended Salisbury University, where she played one year of club lacrosse before joining the university’s soccer program. After graduating, she missed the game and returned to lacrosse through coaching. She began her coaching career at North Point High School, serving as an assistant coach for two years before becoming head coach from 2022 to 2025. Sydney is passionate about the growth of lacrosse in Colorado and is excited to help develop ThunderRidge athletes both on and off the field. Go Grizzlies!

JV Head Coach: Brandi Martinez

Brandi Martinez is in her second year coaching JV and brings a dynamic mix of energy, experience, and enthusiasm to the ThunderRidge girls lacrosse program. Outside of coaching, she works in software development for Workforce Solutions at Equifax, where she has spent the past ten years building systems that support people and organizations across the country. Her coaching background spans multiple sports and age levels. She previously coached her niece’s youth soccer team through age six and recently completed her first season coaching Mountain Vista flag football. She also serves as a girls wrestling coach at Mountain Vista, where she is known for her ability to motivate athletes and build confidence in competitive environments. While she did not grow up playing lacrosse, Brandi has quickly picked up the game through coaching and study, bringing a thoughtful, detail oriented approach to the sport. Her fun energy, great personality, and strong communication skills make her a natural leader for young athletes, and she is passionate about helping players grow, learn, and love the game.
JV Assistant Coach: Jen Hartmann

Jen Hartmann is entering her third year as the ThunderRidge High School Assistant JV Coach and brings dedication, organization, and a love for the game to the program. She has coached a variety of competitive youth lacrosse teams and has been surrounded by the sport for many years through her children, which is how she first fell in love with lacrosse. Jen is passionate about helping young athletes grow both on and off the field and takes pride in creating a positive and supportive team environment. Her strong organizational skills help keep the JV program running smoothly and allow players to focus on developing their skills and confidence. Outside of lacrosse, she works at Mountain Ridge Middle School in the Special Needs classroom, where she supports students with patience, care, and compassion, and she enjoys attending her kids sporting events and spending time with her family. Jen is excited to continue contributing to the ThunderRidge girls lacrosse program.
