HOTEL:Â DoubleTree by Hilton Tucson – Reid Park –Â 445 S Alvernon Way, Tucson, AZ 85711Â
TRHS has booked the hotel for all players and coaches. Parents are responsible for booking their own accommodations. You are welcome to stay at the same hotel and will need to book rooms on your own.
TRHS has reserved vans for transportation for the week between the hotel, games, and grabbing a bite to eat in between. As in prior years, we will do our best to help transport players between the airport and hotel based on flight arrivals and departures. If your son is traveling alone, please send his itinerary to gpaquette@hotmail.com , and we will coordinate shuttles to the hotel and back as necessary.
Cost for the week of the tournament is separate from all fees from the regular season. We will settle-up after the trip for hotel, vehicles, gas, etc. after spring break. Rough estimate is $600/player. Payment details will be provided after we have all the final costs when we return to Colorado
Players will be responsible for paying for all of their own food for the week. We will make runs to Walmart for them to put food in their rooms and take them out for nourishment based on game/practice times. We will coordinate some team dinners while we are there. If parents are interested in sponsoring a team dinner, please let Coach Mapps or Geoff know.
Be sure that your son is prepared for all kinds of weather. While it may be 75 as a high, night/morning games get cold (for fans too). Please confirm they have long sleeve undershirts and hoodies in their bags.Â
It is expected that players will be on their best behavior at all times. Room checks will be conducted by Coach Mapps every night. Should there be issues with behavior, they will be addressed immediately and will have consequences. Â
For TR Baseball fans, they to charge for entry to the park. They have done daily and weekly wristbands in the past. There is an app that I will included on this page to buy them, or you can scan and pay at the park. For fans that struggle on stairs or walk long-distances, they do have a golf cart to help transport. There are bleachers to sit on at the two fields as well. They have concessions on site at Cherry Field as well.
This is a great trip for the boys to bond, enjoy some warm weather, and play baseball. They will create memories, friendships, and skills. Many guys on Senior Night has pointed to their spring break trips as the highlight of their time in the program. We hope to make that happen again this year for them and our parents.
